Alright, I'm definitely home sick- as in, sick of being at home!!! Today all I have been able to think about is all of the places I've been, and all the things I've done, as well as all of the places I'd love to go. I love to travel and try new things. So, today I'm going to reminisce on all that I've done. I'll do a separate post for the different places so that it won't be so long.
I'm working on my bucket list so that I can start having little goals to work up to, and as soon as I'm "finished" (it's an ongoing process for sure) I will post it on here. I realized that a lot of things that I would have put on my bucket list I've already done though.
Here are some fun traveling pictures from around our area:
This is the Teton River - I love it here. It's so peaceful and quiet and a place where you can really think about things. And in the summer, it's crazy fun to float on inner tubes. If you get lucky, you'll see a moose or deer walking through either the water or the willows on the side of the river.
Also at the river, there is a wonderful view of the Teton Mountains:
One day last summer, Nick and I decided to take the jeep for a nice little ride up on the West Side. We thought we'd try to find the lake that's hidden, however, we totally got lost and ended up here:
It was absolutely beautiful- just not exactly where we were headed :)
We have been to Mesa Falls a lot, and try to go at least once a year. It's awesome there, and I love going.
This is the staircase going back up to the parking area:
Our exchange student Daniel was taking a picture of the Falls and I decided to sneak in behind him and take a picture of him taking a picture- then I edited it in Photoshop, and it turned out pretty cool.
Last year, on our way back from Mesa Falls, we got to stop at a place named "Warm River" (I think). It was super neat. There is a stream that runs through the middle of this mountain campground area. You can fish, camp, hike, swim, tube and BBQ. It was kind of cold outside, but since it's called Warm River, I decided to go in anyways. It lived up to it's name!
Me standing in the River- no one else would!!
Another place we like to go to at least once a year is Yellowstone National Park. If you have a chance to go, it's definitely something fun to do.
On our way we always stop at a place called "Big Springs". It's gorgeous there, and my Grandpa Stewart loved it there, so we like to stop for a while. There are tons of big fish that you can feed here. There's no fishing allowed, and no wading allowed- although I do like to sit on the dock area and put my feet in the water!
We couldn't get a picture of the big fish, just the small ones
There is also a little house with a watermill that you can go in to on certain days
The last time we went to YNP Nick decided to come with us, so here are some of the places we went while we were there:
Above us you can see "Steamboat Geyser" which rarely goes off. The water as you can see runs down the hill and under the bridge you walk across.
This was at the top of a waterfall that we found while driving
You know us, we had to walk right to the edge of it.
Then we went to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
Far away view:
Up close view:
A chipmunk that was eating out of peoples hands and then grabbed my toe and sniffed it like it was going to eat it! Haha
Nick and I sitting on the rail overlook at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
And of course we stopped at Old Faithful
This was the boardwalk at Old Faithful- FULL of people
Ahhhh good old Coeur d' Alene is next. We used to live here, so to go back and visit makes me feel like I'm home again.
This is the view of Coeur d' Alene Lake- it's much bigger than this. This is just part of it.
Coeur d' Alene Beach and Lifeguard Area
Walkway Behind The Beach Area
The Coeur d' Alene Resort
The Dock To Get To The Airplane And Para-sailing Rides
Me On The Cruise Ship At The "North Pole"
The "North Pole" Holiday Cruise- World's Largest Animated Christmas Tree
Ok, so that's about it for traveling around our area. Now I will post some other fun vacations I've had.
Stay Classy!
