Hey everyone! Long time, no post. I know. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Just a quick update first. I'm feeling MUCH better than I was when I wrote my last post. All of the tests came back negative, and although the Epstein Barr Virus test came back negative, it did show that there was a trace of mono at an earlier time. I'm not really sure what that matters, but hey, it's something. So, since then, I was able to go down and see TJ, and spend the day with him and his wonderful mom, dad and sister. I had an absolute blast and I wouldn't trade a day with them for the world. TJ is now working in North Dakota, and is gone for about 4 weeks at a time, and then home for one. I am already missing him like crazy, and he hasn't been gone for very long. Hopefully the days go by fast and it won't be long until I'm with him again.
This weekend was the Huntsman Springs' Celebrate America Festival. It's put on my John Huntsman Sr. and John Huntsman Jr. It is a full day of different festivities and activities all for free. Then speeches, and an absolutely amazing fireworks show. Regardless of where I move to in life, I will be coming back to Huntsman Springs for the 4th of July Celebrations every year. I can't wait to have kids and come back and let them enjoy the wonderful opportunity provided here.
This year we went around 2:30, which was about half way through the air show. I have never been to an air show before, and let me just say it was incredible/horrible. I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown at any minute just because the planes were so close to the crowd and doing absolutely insane moves. Haha. Then there were some Russian jets that they flew above the audience. They were so loud but absolutely incredible to watch. Here are some pics of the airshow.
Here's how it was set up at Huntsmans
Here's when everyone stood up for the Presenting Of The Colors and The National Anthem. All standing with hands on their hearts
The Raising Of The Flag:
And here's our family just kind of hanging out getting a good sunburn:
**Brandon couldn't be with us because he was working :(
So here's a picture of me before, during and after the wonderful sunshine-y day:
I finally covered up with a jacket, which sucked 'cuz it was super hot...
And this was the result of the day:
That actually looks better than it did in "real life"...it hurt a bit! Haha
After the air show we got to listen to a band that covered everything from the 1970's to Elvis, to Michael Buble, Michael Jackson and Adele. At first we were just hanging out...
Then we started to get in to the music...and started swing dancing...
But then something really great happened...they started singing Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and for some reason Michael (my brother) REALLY got in to it!!! It was epic...
After all of that craziness, John Huntsman Jr. came out and spoke
Then John Huntsman Sr. spoke
At this point I just want to take a minute and say thank you so very much to the Huntsman Family. This celebration is completely free, and any donations that are made through text message at the end of the night go towards helping find a cure for cancer. Thank you for not making it a political deal, but just having it for people to go and enjoy the day and remember those who have fought, who are fighting and who will fight for our country. I also want to say thanks for those of you who have fought, and are fighting and will fight. The tremendous amount of courage that takes is beyond measure. I thank you and appreciate and respect and admire you.
At this point in the night it was really neat because the sun had just barely gone down and the moon was already out.
After the speeches it was time for the fireworks! It was the most amazing firework display I have ever seen in my entire life. It was absolutely incredible. The people who did it this year are the same people who do the Rose Bowl fireworks, Superbowl Half Time fireworks, and the Olympic torch lighting ceremonies. Thank you to them! It was amazing.
Now, I know you all probably think I'm crazy for posting all of the firework pictures, but it was seriously beyond amazing. Absolutely incredible. Just wow.
So Michael's leg got sunburned but only on one side, and his tan line was funny so we took a picture. Here are the dumb/funny pictures of the after effects of sitting at the park from 2:30 pm- 10:30 pm without any sunscreen...
Well, that's all for the day at Huntsmans.
Now on to today. So, my friend Paul decided that we should go on a drive to Idaho Falls. We ended up just going to eat at Olive Garden and then driving and taking random roads and just seeing where we ended up. It was actually super fun and at some point along the way we ended up getting the most awkward Southern accents and made up nicknames for each other and acted like old people all day. We were laughing so hard at points I thought I was going to pee my pants. His name was Harold, but I called him Harry. And I was..ummmm...I can't remember, but I'll ask him and update it. Either way it was a blast. It was stupid, but hilarious and fun.
So on our random drive here are the things we found.
1.) A random pan in the middle of the road...
2.) Some gorgeous horses....
3.) The scout camp where we went as Achievement Day girls and went on a little zip line and I fell in love with a boy named Vance. (I was like 9, and that's all I remember. lol.)
4.) Last, but most definitely not least...a water tower. I have been DYING to find a water tower to climb with my man TJ....and this one is not an option. It is guarded quite well...dangit. lol.
Thank you Harry for the long ass drive! Hahahahahahahaha. Good times, good times.
